Normally one wouldn't see a 2 inch piece of metal and freak out, but when it suddenly is in a sharp tube form with who knows what kind of liquid in at the other end, it'll send shivers down your back.
I had two great needle stories both include Hanna:
1. Hanna was having some pretty bad headaches the first week we were here. Berta, our host mom, was pretty worried about it. But Hanna being the tough girl she is sucked it up and came to church. Little did she know she was going to get more than a pray and some good bible stories. Berta told me to tell Hanna to go with her outside during R.S. I asked if I should go but they said no its fine. Next thing I know Hanna comes hubbling back in and slowly sits down on the wood benches and says, I think God is punishing me for not coming to church for five years. I just got the biggest shot in my butt¨ We laughed. and she didn't complain about a headache again.
2. At a presentation we were doing, an older lady showed up and said she heard we were nurses and asked if we could give her a shot. I started to explain we weren't certified but then Hanna yelled I've given a calf a shot I could do it. ahah So we got back and the lady gives us all the stuff. Hanna looked at the bottle and gave the eye and said she wasn't sure if this is what it should look like. but oh well.
She got a strong hold on the needle.. the lady pulled down her pants... hanna raised her hand high .. and then poked that lady with all her might but.. it didn't even stratch the surfaces hahaha we looked at each other and then hanna just shoved that needle as hard as she could into the lady's bottom. When it was all down the lady left and hanna and I started busting a gut.

New Upcoming Drama Series
The new cast for the upcoming drama series:
1 bipolar hypochondriac female version of Mr. Higgins
1 wealthy 20 yr old party girl that has been smoothered by her parents and now caged in an office and speaks no spanish
1 somewhat bitter/angry english speaking graduate who was dumped by her crazy boyfriend before she came to Honduras and now could kill her cousin
Finally, the cousin, the only actual Intern in the group who is engaged and can't keep her mind out of the clouds and planning a wedding.
I think it is sounds interesting; I might watch it. Oh wait I'm living it here in Honduras teaching English classes and Health seminars ahaha
I have to admit the best part would be the comedy relief the supervisor Dennis. He is so funny and amazing. Some people are so sincere and you can't help but love him, hence the reason I have started a plan for him to quit his coke (the soda pop) addiction.
Gotta run and teach people how to save lives... that it's self is funny

Jumping into a Freezing Cold Pool
So this is my first entry ever on a blog let's see how it goes :)
I compare my arrival to Honduras and the BIT program to jumping into a freezing cold pool. It wasn't at all what I was expecting. The best way to though to adjust was to start treading and slowly you get use to it. Instead of teaching Phlebotomy we are teaching seminars to various stakes around San Pedro. They are two sessions of 4 hours. We half one day and half the next day. I'm teaching first aid, CPR, diabetes, blood types, and (translating for hannah my counsin) STDS. I help Laurelyn with nutrition, stroke, heart attack and taking vitals signs. Talking in front of everyone is triesome. my mouth goes dry and I get flustered when I don't know how to say the words in spanish. However the fun part is actually doing it. we divide up in groups and they all practice everything we teach except the STDS part haha. They really enjoy it. I demand the very best of myself and want things to be perfect so after our first presentations. I was sort of disappointed and was talking to Dennis our supervisor. He told to remember this is the first and probably the only medical presentation these people have ever had and even if it is a little and not like a professional, they are learning and gaining skills that will help their lives and hopefully they can in turn help and maybe save the lives of others.
Shocking fact I learned: you can buy any medical tools, surgery tools, medicine, chemicals without any license. Good for us cause we need somethings but also very scary haha
